As an adolescent, Odems already had love for music because she was blessed with a father who was a music lover too and even headed a band called orchestra in the 80`s. She was exposed to music very early in life at the age eight. I can never forget the family gathering round the sitting room practicing and singing beautiful melodies she recalls. Her love and knowledge for music opened so many doors and opportunities for her music career. Before she started composing her own songs she has always done lead vocals for the children choir in church and even now in her local parish.
As a song writer, singer and performer she has written a done several jingles for various organizations and church's and also done back up singing for various artists.
Discovered by Mr Totsman Etoty in 2005 at the annual Calabar carnival/ Christmas festival, a global festival which as gain gained recognition world wide just like the carnival in Trinidad and Tobago, Odems has since then been glowing in her talent and has gained so much recognition, support and love from her Calabar audience. She has performed and co-written songs for 5 years till date for the cross river state government and has done several performances at the state house and the Obudu ranch Resort.
Her music, a blend of soul and hip-hop fusion has kept her audience happy and satisfied at every of her performance. Odems comes out with the kind of gospel music that is strong and energetic yet melodious, that leaves you with no choice than to dance, and still delivers the message for which it is intended for that is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Her aim is to stir up and rekindle the fire and desire in the heart of young people for the love of Christ and help them discover the gracious gift of God that is in them, So basically her target is the young people, those who have lost-track in the journey of life, and to strengthen those who are already in faith and keep the zeal burning for the things of the lord..
Presently, she has a single on air titled Ngbagba tin Gba, she says its a slang which express confidence of what God is to her or anyone listening to the song just like David said "The Lord is my light and salvation who shall i be afraid of " Ngbagba tin Gba simply means in this context my all.
