BOKO HARAM STATES THAT THE STATE SECURITY SERVICES CAN ONLY BARK BUT CANNOT BITE

The outlawed Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has opened a blog, http://yusufislamicbrothers.blogspot.com, for the wider dissemination of its messages.

The blog, apparently named after its slain former leader, Yusuf Mohammed, has a number of messages to the group‘s followers and threats to Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa and the State Security Service.

The blog has a total of 18 postings, including a transcript of the last interview granted by the group‘s former leader before he was allegedly murdered by policemen on July 30, 2009.

There are photographs of the Kaduna State governor and his family; the group‘s former leader after his arrest on July 30, 2009; the man who allegedly bombed the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja on June 16, 2011, Mohammed Manga; and scenes the blast.

There is a picture of seven hooded men holding assault rifles, with ammunition belts around their bodies. Atop this image, posted on June 17, 2011, is a message that the group has trained commandos in Somalia and will attack Northern states such as Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, Taraba and Kaduna.

There is also a diatribe against Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako and a purported picture of the governor and an unidentified lady in an aircraft.
