CRIS BROWN TATOOS RIHANA'S NAME ON HIS NECK

We haven’t heard the last of the ‘undying love’ between pop stars and former lovers Chris Brown and Rihanna, certainly not after they hooked up, hugged and kissed at the 2012 MTV VMAs.

And they’ve got us talking again after a recent photo displaying Chris Brown’s new tattoo hit the internet.

The neck tattoo, a face of a woman has a striking resemblance with Rihanna but Brown insists it’s not his former girlfriend.

Reports say the photo of the tattoo was taken anytime from  September 1 – Chris was seen without the tat on August 30.

Sources are however saying similarities the tat has with Rihanna’s face are purely coincidental.

WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO HORSE IN CHURCH

Worshipers of the World Liberation Ministry located along old

Sapele-Benin express road on Tuesday took to their heels during a prophesy programme when a female member delivered a horse.

The horse was however dead by the time Journalists visited the church. It was gathered that the woman whose identity was not yet known started screaming during the prayer session and began to bleed from the vagina before the horse came out.

The General Overseer of the church, Evangelist Silva Wealth, said he was still amazed at what came out of the woman.

He told Journalists that during prayers a revelation came that there was a woman with an issue and that something was blocking her womb.

Silva said as prayers intensified, the woman started screaming and bleeding started when the object came out. The cleric said he couldn’t confirm whether the horse was dead or alive because he didn’t go near it.
“I can’t describe the object. We have seen people that vomited several things during our service but not this type of thing. God has been blessing our ministry with prophesies and miracles, “he said. People rushed to the church to catch a glimpse of the horse when news of the delivery filtered into town.

INDUSTRY NITE GETS RE FAZED

Bobby Brown has checked out of rehab after a three-week spell.

BOBBY Brown has checked out of rehab after a three-week spell.

The 43-year-old singer was admitted to a medical centre in the US earlier this month - just six months after his ex-wife Whitney Houston died.

Bobby's current wife Alicia Etheridge confirmed the singer's release by stating the troubled star had "graduated" from the programme.

She added: "We are supportive and proud."

Originally it was reported the singer was being treated for his ongoing addictions, thought to be alcohol-related, however It has now emerged his stay was part of a plea deal stemming from a DUI arrest in March.

Bobby married his manager Alicia in June but was snubbed by daughter Bobbi Kristina who failed to attend.

Whitney was found dead in a bath at a Beverly Hills hotel in February.

She first topped the charts when she was 22, followed by a flurry of No1 songs and multi-platinum records.

PREZZO IN LAGOS: CLAIMS "I'M IN LOVE WITH GOLDIE AND I'M HERE TO MARRY HER''

Big Brother Africa Stargame’s Jackson Makini better known as  Prezzo  from Kenya is in Lagos seeking the hands of his embattled mate in  the house, Goldie in marriage. Prezzo who arrived Nigeria last Tuesday night made a shocking revelation to a posse of journalists when he declared his mission in Nigeria was to propose to pop singer, Goldie. Both had displayed a rare chemistry in the house that many Nigerians felt disgusted about lovestruck Goldie. At a press parley Wednesday, Prezzo who arrived in a black Toyota Prado SUV  spotting a flowing agbada surprised journalists when he unveiled his mission.

”I’ m here to tell the whole world that  Big brother Africa is real and Prezzo in Big Brother Africa is real. I never used Goldie to get attention. I’m not in any relationship,   and I must say that any married individual cannot got to Big Brother Africa because it is a social platform  where you meet people, like them, a place where  you can explore, meet people and hook up.

“I met Goldie and i liked her,  I fell in love and I hooked up with her but eventually she left the house before me.
He further disclosed that he’s divorced and ready to fall in love again.

“As a matter of fact, my wife and I separated two and a half years ago and she has the divorce letter with her back in Kenya. I even told my wife when the going was rough that she can go to Big Brother Africa, mingle and get hooked up.”

He vowed to see Goldie again and bare his mind.  He also promised a journalist an invitation to their wedding soon and begged Nigerians to forgive him, if he had offended them during his stay in the house.

Prezzo, a rapper and mate, Keegan  fought to win the star prize of 300, 000 US dollars. Though he lost the star prize to Keegan, his popularity has soared and he has won millions of hearts across Africa and this shows in the number of evictions that he survived to stay in the house. If his proposal  to Goldie is accepted, they will be following the steps of Kevin Pam who found love  and married  Elizabeth Gupta, another housemate.

BABA FRYO BRUTALIZED BY 7 POLICEMEN OVER TWO PROSTITUTES

Seven yet to be identified policemen beat reggae/ ragga singer, Papa Fryo to stupor last Monday morning. The ugly incident which occurred at Desyles Hotel and Niteclub, Badagry, Lagos at 3: 00AM, according to the humiliated singer was unfortunate and a clear case of injustice. He claimed he was not in any way involved in the matter that led to the brutality meted out to him by the policemen from Isashi Police Station, Badagry, Lagos who had come to arrest two women identified as sisters in the niteclub . .

The girls identified as sisters were earlier approached by a man who an eye-witness claimed wanted to have fun with them together.  The sisters, who were already in his car felt he could not make love with them together and the disagreement led to the fight which caused part of his car to damage.

The aggrieved man later took the matter to the police station at Isashi. Baba Fryo narrates his ordeal:
“Na  one man go carry police come to arrest two girls so as the girl dem dey resist arrest, I even advised the girls to follow the police as the girls to resist address, no be say I do anything bad. As the police dey discuss outside as they dey argue, later they reinforce, when they reinforce dey be about seven and me I know dey that time wey dey reinforce, me I dey sleep for upstairs, but when I hear the noise I had to come down. When I come down the police dey beat them too much and me I know fit bear am, even the girls I know happy with wetin them dem dey do but because they were constituiting nuisance there but at least they are humans and they are woman. They no suppose to dey beat woman like that, so the only statement that I made was make una take am easy dem be women that was all, na him this police dem  begin to beat me, use banton to break my leg, begin to match my leg. So from there they handcuff me and carry me go police station.

“So when they come ask dem say  wetin this man do, the other two police wey come at first, them come dey talk say this man no o anything this man dey our side, na him them come commot the handcuff from my hand, they know even tell me sorry they no talk anything, but now I dey hospital now, since that day till now, so I just collect the x-ray now and dem say I get fracture for leg and the police no talk anything about the bills and everything for this hospital. Funny enough, the man wey call the police, the man wan sleep with two sisters, but the girls come understand they no come gree, but the first time dem dey play with the man, dey play with car so tey dem put  on in ignition and the police ask am say where him dey when they put  on the ignition, he say him dey inside car, so the switch of the wiper comot, the man no complain ohhh, so when the girls come refuse the man na him the man come begin complain say that switch wey dey comot na N15,000 and say the girls go pay.   I get motor that thing na N500 or N1000 problem. So after dem reach police station solve the matter finish dey come say the two of them dey tell lies say make dem settle themselves, that was all oh.

“We dey fear armed robber we dey fear police. Wetin make police take action like that na because of the amount of money the man take call am for police thinking say dey go fit exploit the girls, then get the money or the man wan put them for tight corner. na ten ten thousand since Monday u understand so na wetin happen be that my brother nothing else. Later dem take  me to the police station and I met the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) who after listening to me, said it was a communication gap problem. That the policemen did not know na be  Baba Fryo.  Can you imagine that? So, if you could not identify me as Baba Fryo, u wan kill me? ”

As at the time of posting this report, Baba Fryo is on the sick bed at Aiyetoro Medical Centre, along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

D'Banj attends prayer session with other celebrity over death scare

Following a warning by Pastor Wole Oladiyun of Christ Living Spring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM), Ogba, Lagos that Nigerian
entertainment should pray against sudden death, the church venue was besieged by top stars who heeded to the pastor's call.
The prayer service was held on Thursday, July 12 from 10am to 12pm.

NMCA got from a good authority that D'Banj was present at the special prayer session held for Nigeria entertainers.
The prayer session was held at the church premises located at CLAM Event Centre, behind Tejumola Building, Omole, Lagos.
We further learnt that D'Banj was dragged to the church for the prayer session by his mother, apparently not wanting any evil
befall his son, who has achieved success in his music career.

Also present at the prayer session were Mercy Aigbe, Foluke Daramola, Ayo Adesanya, BUGA, Femi Ogedengbe, Funke
Adesiyan and many others.

Few weeks ago, Pastor Oladiyun warned that Nigerian entertainers should come for a special prayer session with him to avert
sudden death among Nigerian entertainers.

Jennifer Hudson To Wed Her Longtime Love David Otunga

Jennifer Hudson has experienced some major pre-wedding jitters, but she is finally ready to say her ‘I Do’s’! Radaronline reports that: "After having doubts about marrying David Otunga and even returning her engagement ring, the Academy Award winner’s wedding to her longtime love is back on track after a nearly 4 year-long engagement".
“Jennifer started feeling like it just wasn’t right,” the source says. “So many bad things have happened since they got engaged in 2008 that have prevented them from finally getting married, and she was worried that she was just trying too hard to make something happen that wasn’t meant to be.”

Though the couple has attempted to work through all the issues, Jennifer had a breaking point around the time of William Balfour’s murder trial, where he was found guilty of murdering her mother, brother and nephew.

“Jennifer and David quietly called off the wedding a few months ago and she even returned her ring to him,” the source stated  “She was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended, and she just cracked.”

[Album Review] Empire Mates State Of Mind - E.M.E All Stars

EME ALL STAR [ BANKY W, WIZKID, SKALES,SHAYDEE, NIYIOLA]
ALBUM: EMPIRE MATES STATE OF MIND
LABEL: EMPIRE MATES ENTERTAINMENT
RELEASE DATE: 6/18/2012
TAYOTV EDITOR'S RATING: 8.5/10

1. Baddest Boy BankyW, Wizkid & Skales: 8/10
I did not like this track when I was initially leaked but when this version with Banky was released it changed my opinion about the track. The track is basic till Banky dropped his verse. This track would have been a 7 without Banky’s verse.
2. Get down tonight ft Wizkid, BankyW and Skales: 6/10
The Wizkid I fell in love with in 2011 would have murdered this beat but his delivery on this track was just blehhh. The beat is average and the lyric from all 3 is just “Aii”.
3. Sun mo mi Shaydee, Skales & BankyW: 8.5/10
Skales just keeps winning me over to his corner with his singing abilities, he seems to be a better singer than rapper so far, a lil work on his bars and it’s OVER. Shaydee and Banky on the other hand schooled the beat.. Justice!!
4. Hate ft BasketMouth – Funny Skit!!
5. Roll it ft Wizkid & Banky: 8.5/10
Weeezy on some Jamaician Ragga sh*t heavy delivery, He seem to have it together on this track, Banky coming on to add that big boy swag to the song just tips it over the edge a little bit more, and I mean that in a good way. This song will grow on you most definitely.
6.Find My Trouble ft BankyW, Skales and Shaydee: 6/10
I think this is one of the weakest tracks on this album. The beat is not all that, the lyrics is too basic.
7.Body ft Wizkid: 7.5/10
I like Wizkid beacause I know he is talented, and he has an awesome voice but him trying to sing all these reggae themed songs takes away his original style of music. Plus the lyrics are not catchy enough. The beat helped the song a bit. Don’t get me wrong brilliant music.
8. Ko Mo Le ft Skales: 8.5/10
I love this track; this track just reiterated my point that Skales is talented as all he did here is sing. If he can improve on his bars, I see him being considered one of the best “Nigeria’s Drake.”. Great Productions, better lyrics would make Ko Mo Le Jam for Life.
9. Dance BankyW ft XO Senavoe: 8.5/10
I like the way this track started off with the Techno/Soca beat feel to it. Banky sure put in work on this track. He was really creative with the lyrics, I don’t see it being a club banger but then again what do I know lol. All I can say about XO’s rap is, XOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
10. Don’t Delay me ft Niyiola: 7.5
Niyiola’s voice is AMAZING, her lyrics here just didn’t do it for me.. Beautiful voice & delivery. I’ll give it a 7.5. I know she can do waaaaay better than that.
11. London Girl ft Wizkid: 8.5/10
Iyeyeye Wizkid is definitely on that Jamacian style tip, but I see this track being played in a lot of naija clubs and I see the track doing mad numbers in London I mean Nigerian music is moving faster than the speed of light (hehehe)… I Can see a lot of London girls relating to the song.
12. Hate Part 2 ft BasketMouth – Hilarious Skit!!!
13. Dance for me Wizkid: 8/10
I’d say Lovely track if 90% of the songs Wizkid has released this year did not have this theme. I feel like he freestyled on this track. The lyrics are below par; he has been repeating some of his lines too much. But at the same time if you don’t care about lyrics… Dance for me is your jam!! I’d blast it on my way to highness.
14. Follow Go House ft Skales, BankyW and Shaydee: 8.5/10
This track has that slow feel to it and the beat took me back to the days of 112 especially with the way Shaydee delivered his verse, he reminded me of Slim from 112. Even though Skales can sing, he is not made for this kinda beat. The track would have been better if it was just Banky and Shaydee. Shaydee showed signs of great things to come with his delivery on this track. Legit track!!
15. My Baby ft Skales: 7/10
I think Skales and EME used this track to just let us know that Wizkid is not the only weapon they have because Skales delivered perfectly on this track. This is something you would think Shaydee, Niyiola or Banky would have been on but Skales held his ground. Big ups 2 him.
16. Only you ft BankyW, Shaydee and Rotimi: 9/10
This is that Washing/Setting P song on this album. I love the delivery, the lyrics, the beat, Having Rotimi, Banky and Shaydee on the same track is sure to make the ladies wet their ‘pata’. One of the best on the album if not the best. #noarguement
17. Reppin’ EMEAZZyy Banky, Skales and Wizkid: 7.5/10
I love Wizkid’s delivery on this track he came original. What happened to Niyiola & Shaydee? they should be on this track too.
18. Wetin I Want ft Niyiola & Skales: 8.5/10
Niyiola sealed her place as the 1st Lady of EME with her delivery on this track. She outshined Skales, took him to class and things… She definitely made this track an 8.5.
19. Change: 9/10
BankyW delivered on this track, a track dedicated to Nigeria and I don’t think there is any1 in the naija music industry that could deliver this track the way he did, maybe 2face. The lyrics are on point and Niyiola on the chorus was just the right move. Shaydee was on point here too.
20. See my mama Wizkid, Shaydee & BankyW: 9/10
This song reminds me of Wizkid’s “I love my baby” song, so I think that’s why I like it. Now picture putting Banky and Shaydee on that Love my baby song, that’s what u have here. This track is lovely. It’s a 9 in my books. Something that will have the clubs on fire this already hot summer. Wizkid’s delivery here was ONPOINT.
21. Hate Part 3 ft Basketball – Funny Skitt
22. Can’t Stop Us- EME ALL Star: 8/10
Skales is multi-talented as he can sing and also rap, but him rapping on this track did not do it justice, his bars are weak. This track introduced Niyiola and Shaydee perfectly. XO did his thing, he came correct. He tipped the track to be at an 8 for me.
Being the 1st All star album out of EME’s camp it’s not bad at all, some of the songs were really nice while some were just blehhhh.
Banky W: Being the Head of EME, I feel he has done a great job assembling this team, he has focused more on wizkid thus not giving the rest of the crew equal attention (my Opinion, I could be wrong). He also needs to remind his fans that he is still the Banky W they fell in love with, what I mean by this is to drop 1 or 2 new singles.
Wizkid: Weeezy needs to cut down on the Jamo/Raggae theme and go back to the old Wizkid we fell in love with. His style of late has been repetitive, he has the voice, and he just needs his lyrics to be top notch he has the best producers producing for him so please do justice to the beat.
Skales: He needs to work on his bars if he really wants to be a rapper, as per singing he has proved himself. I think he is a better singer than a rapper so far. He could be a force to reckon with once his bars are ‘tighter’.

Shaydee & Niyiola: All I can say about this two is, Sky is their limit. His voice is unique as in one track he sounded like Slim and then switched it up in other tracks. With Banky’s help he should rise to greater heights. Niyiola is no doubt the 1st lady of this camp. Most female artistes should come learn from her.

MAY D'S GIRLFRIEND TATTOO HIS NAME ON HER BODY

May D is definitely a very fast rising artiste when it comes to producing hits, hooks and madt verses… No wonder his Girlfriend had to remind him of her dying love for him before he starts singing “Chop my money” or “sound track” to another girl.

His girlfriend, Adebola recently covered herself in ink (tattoo) with May D on her arm, shoulder blade and waist line… (Nice!)

This is a very big step… We hope to see a ring on that finger soon Mister MayD.

Usain Bolt Shows off his nack for women and DJingBolt

Bolt with pretty girls

HE’S famous for finishing well in races, but it seems Usain Bolt also knows how to start a night in style too.

The world’s fastest man arrived at Oslo’s plush Bar Tjuvholmen in a SPEEDBOAT with a beauty on each arm.

And the record-breaking sprinter was a runaway success when he took to the stage as well.

He took the opportunity to show off his less famous talents, having a go at drumming and DJing at the Norwegian nightspot.

It was a chance for the 25-year-old world champ to let his hair down, as he takes a break from the local Bislett Games and his preparations for the London Olympics.

And he would be glad of the female company following his split with gorgeous fashion designer girlfriend Lubica Slovak last month.

Usain called time on the romance to concentrate on his training.

TIMAYA: I WAS A SEX SLAVE AT 14

Timaya was born Enetimi Odom in 1977 In Bayelsa state. Then it was still part of Rivers state. He was born into a family of 17 children. His mother had three girls and four boys for his father, while his father had eight other children from another wife. Amongst all of them, the little statured Timaya was the last of them all.

Though his father worked in a bank and his mother was a trader, there was little to go round the family. Tough the parents tried their best, it was not an easy task raising all the children. Timaya being the last knew even as a little child that if he had to succeed, he would have to break off on his own.

Music notwithstanding, Timaya had been a rebel since his youth. He attended Assemblies of God Nursery and Primary School in Portharcourt. Though he was a quiet child, he could not be bullied. In fact he was feared. As a child, all he had in his head was how to make it in life.

“Many of those who write about me do not know who I really am. They only listen to my music, they don’t know the real me. Yet when they write, they portray me in a bad way and that is not who I am. Now some people see me and think I am the kind of person that carries a gun.”

He left home as early as 14 years old. Without any Kobo to his name, he decided to put his own destiny into his own hands.

“When I had nowhere to stay, I had to go and live with a woman friend who turned me into a prisoner. I had to live by her rules. I could not go anywhere until she allows me to. I could never stay out until 7pm, or else I am in trouble. She was older than me by four years and I did not have a choice.

Anytime I complain, she threatened to throw me out of her house. If I failed to make love to her, she would accuse me of sleeping with other ladies, and she will again threaten to throw my things out. That was when I was in Porthacourt. It was not easy for me then, but what could I do? It was when I was able to save some money to get another place that I was able to escape.”

That experience was the beginning of a new life for Timaya. He moved to Lagos to finish his secondary schooling. He attended Ikeja Grammar School where he finally obtained a Secondary School Certificate.

After secondary school, he got admission into University of Portharcourt, tyring to follow his father’s footsteps as a banker. But like he said in one of his songs “book no enter my head”. So he dropped out. He decided to face his passion for music squarely. His first major break was when he got into the Eedris Abdul Kareem band. He worked his way up the ladder to be his number one back-up singer.

“Eedris was a good person. One thing I like about him is that he is fearless, and believes in himself so much. He knows how to perform on stage. He knows how to carry the crowd, and that is one thing I have learnt from him. He could carry the street along, he could relate to the people, I learnt all that from him. What I did not like about him is the fact that he only tolerated his boys. Till date he never paid me a dime.

The only money he gave to me was one thousand Naira after a show we did at Kuramo beach. That I did not copy from him. I treat my boys fine. I don’t owe them. They all have cars. I know that they all have their own family and their own dream, so I don’t mess with that. Eedris had time only for himself,” Timaya said.

After the Eedris experience, Timaya decided to make it all by himself. He got into a talent hunt. This was were everyone notice his talents. He was rooted to win the challenge, but on the day of the finals, he lost his voice and ended up losing the competition. But there were scouts at the show, and he was already noticed.

Basorge Tariah junior who was one of the judges at the hunt took special interest in Timaya. He took him to Daniel Wilson’s studio. It was at Daniel Wilson’s studios that Timaya met the man that produced his first hit song that brought him to limelight, K-Solo. K-Solo was at the studio to record a song for Felix Duke. The chance meeting ended up in Timaya’s first hit, which was self-titled.

Prior to this, his benefactor Basorge told him he was handling some projects at the moment and Timaya should wait a bit. But Timaya had been holding on too long. He decided to look for money on his own to record his songs.

“I had to go back to Portharcort to gather money from friends. When I got back to Lagos, I went straight to K-Solo and we started off recording. Then some people came in from Russia, and tried to sign me. They wanted to sign me for five years and two albums. I was to get N650,000. For me it was a big thing. But their own lawyer called me aside and advised me not to sign the contract.

I almost swore for him. I thought he was against my progress. I did not know, he was saving me from enslaving myself. The lawyer delayed me from signing till the label got frustrated. I am thankful for that lawyer till today. So all the while they were paying my studio bills.

“I printed 5,000 copies of my demo cd, and took them to Port harcourt. Before you know it, the song was doing well in the east and in Porthacourt. After a while, I found out that the songs were doing well in the east but I could not get acceptance in Lagos. I went to all the popular marketers in Alaba, but none of them wanted to market my song. One even offered me N50,000 for the whole cd.

As I was going home that same day, one road side cd seller from Port harcourt called me that his brother wants to buy my work. That was how I met the CEO of Danko Music, who bought it for N500,000.

“I used part of the money for promotion of the songs. I rented a one room apartment and I started surviving with what is left. My music was so popular yet I was so broke. I lived in a compound where there is a mango tree. Anytime there are heavy winds, I and my landlord will bring bucket out to pick mangos. He would start abusing me that what kind of a musician am I? I have two popular songs yet I am broke.”

Not long after, Timaya started getting shows. His first major show was a university gig. He was paid just N120,000. The money was not much but that money he said, marked the end of poverty for him. He started getting shows from all over the country.

“later that year, that marketer that bought my song called me up and bought me a car. You will hardly see a marketer do that. He was not obliged to do that. He sold so much of my work the he was just grateful”

The relationship between Timaya and K-Solo used to be very strong. They were always acting like brothers. Timaya was always found in his studio. But all of a sudden Timaya’s albums started having less and less of K-Solo. What really broke up their brotherhood?

“The issue of K-Solo is a non-issue. It’s not like K-Solo did anything big for me. I paid him for all the jobs he did for me. What I noticed was that, all the slangs I put in my songs, K-Solo started putting them in songs of all the people he was producing. I called him and told him that what he is sharing freely to other artistes were my own style and identity. I told him to stop because it will start looking as if he was the one who owns those slogans.

He said aha, shebi we are together. I told him no. Another reason I did not work much with him is that his style was getting to sound the same. In fact you could voice any of my songs easily on any of his beats. I really wanted something fresh. That was why I started working with J-sleek and Spankie and other producers.

As a Bayelsan, Timaya had a different view about the removal of fuel subsidy by President Jonathan. “In everything let us pray we are above any situation. Even before all these subsidy wahala, I did not know how much a liter of fuel cost. That is because I can afford it. Let’s pray that God will bless us in a way that we will not know the price of things, we just buy.” But I must say, it’s not time for subsidy now. Boko Haram is still an issue, we should focus on that now

When asked why he did not campaign for Jonathan during election time. Timaya was not really forthcoming. “Alamieyeseigha is still the best governor Bayelsa ever had. There are a lot of inside politics going on in Bayelsa, as an insider myself, I can’t start revealing all that. But I wish the president well.”

DON JAZZY: FROM MO’HITS TO MAVIN, THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS THE NAME

Hit producer Michael ‘Don Jazzy’ Collins shook the entertainment world a few weeks ago when he unveiled his new MAVIN Records label and subsequently releasing a free compilation album. Many have longed to hear him speak about the power move and his motive behind it.

In this interview with  Ogbonna Amadi,  Entertainment Editor at The Vangaurd, Don Jazzy tells us why he isn’t surprised by the loyalty of D’Prince, Dr SID amd Wande Coal, his latest signing Tiwa Savage, why the only difference between Mo’Hits and Mavin is just the name and how he is focused only on the future.

What is MAVIN all about and what inspired it?

It is spelt MAVIN Records and not Marvin. If you check the dictionary it simply refers to somebody that is a genius or a champion, a sensation, hotshot, superstar, wizkid or whatever . So basically, we decided to call the company that name because we are all geniuses in our different fields coming together in a record company.

How much would you say the event of the past few weeks have helped in the emergence of Mavin Records?

Basically, we do not believe in channeling our energies towards what has  happened in the past. But basically to put up your energy to transform our future. We won’t say we don’t have the memories of things that has happened but we just pray to God that as we move forward such situations will never occur again and we pray for the best.

What have you been able to put in place to ensure that what happened in the past does not repeat itself?

We can’t really say  what happened, we can’t really put a hand on what went wrong so there is nothing one can do. Individually, we  will  just have to do  our best and keep praying that it doesn’t happen again. It’s not that anyone planned it, it happened and we are not in any position to say it’s not going to happen again. Nobody is God.

Do you in any way feel demystified about what happened, because the impression of the people out there is that you are invulnerable, not penetrable?

Demystified!  I don’t really get it

(Cut in) There is this notion about Don Jazzy being somebody that is invulnerable, cannot give in, (so to say)?

Demystified? I don’t really think my integrity or my person has been damaged in any way, I believe that once you cannot hide the light, a gold fish has no hiding place.  Whatever you are is like time will tell who you are. I can’t really say that people who think  that  they know who I am know who I am,  just like some people that want to assume they know  who I am by what they read or what they want to hear.

I’m not in any position to start convincing you or anyone to believe otherwise or believe anything. I just believe that at the end of the day God will vindicate all of us and you will see who we are.

What do you think will change in your transition from MO’HITS to MAVIN?

It has been a moving trend from MO’HITS to MAVIN, the only thing that has changed is the name

From MO’HITS to MAVIN and the addition of new people and basically we will keep moving. So, obviously when you are moving you hope to move from point A to point B. So we got to a point we stop we change gas, we refill and we are still going to get to point B at the end of the day.

Are you surprised about the loyalty of Wande Coal,  D’Prince and DR. SID.

Am I surprised?  No, I don’t see any reason I should be surprised. I’m not surprised , there  is no need for me to be  surprised just like I have said nothing has changed, we are still the people that we are, we are still ourselves as we dey before,  na so we dey, we still dey here, and there is no cause or time to doubt any body’s  loyalty.

You have a new addition to the boys, Tiwa Savage, what’s the attraction? Is she the female artiste you have always wanted on board in Mo Hits?

I have been talking about a female artiste for a long time and Tiwa Savage and I have been talking about adding a female artiste to MO’HIT Records for long time now. It’s not that we didn’t know we will end up together at some point.  We knew from day one when she came into this country that this was going to happen but at that point she was not ready.

Obviously, she can’t wait and I have to encourage her to go ahead and make some things for herself and which she did wonderfully as an artiste. Now there is room for an addition and so we will continue from where we stopped.

Now let’s talk about MAVIN what is special about it and what are we expecting?

Basically, I will say that we have all seen that situations can change just like the way people perceive you, the way people accept your music, the way people talk about you and whatever. So, we  know now that we need to all work harder, gather more momentum to create more music and stuffs  so everybody is gingered, everybody is more fired up now to work and we don’t see anything stopping us  as we are just going to put  in all our energy. Now in MAVIN Records everybody is concentrating on the work and we intend to put out as much as many tracks and albums as possible. Trust me, I’m going to flood the market.

What I thought is perhaps MAVIN will introduce one artiste, one album but you are coming out with a collective album?

It’s not a group. You can tell everybody here is an individual artiste and successful on his or her own.  I must say everybody have at least one to three singles already in the past so we just want to bring them out. I didn’t take part in this album, I only produced the album. This is Mavin Records everybody, please meet us; this is what we are for now.  Individual album is going to follow any moment from now and there is no time to wait at all .

(Cut in) There were no singles before the release of this album?

No, there is no self-formula at the moment so like I said, I don’t really like to give people that publicity stunt being anticipated. When you see it, you see it, when you see it, you take it.

Will Don Jazzy be a sole artiste on MAVIN Records or an in- house producer and  the CEO?

I’m not going to say I’m never going to be an artiste but I don’t see it any time soon.

Who are you looking up to as the cash cow?

Everybody. Basically, the record label is not built in a way one person supposed to be the leader.  Everybody is giving equal opportunity to grow and it all depends on how the crowd sees you. People have their opinions about what they like and stuffs like that so how you appeal to your fans will determine how they take you but we intend to put more push and more backing into everybody even the new people that we will add tomorrow.

There were so many insinuations about life in MO’HITS, that life was regimented such that when someone talks others keep quiet, how democratic is MAVIN going to be this time around?

A lot of stuffs that you guys have heard about MO’HIT Records trust me, they are really wrong, but I wouldn’t  talk about MO’HIT Records because we are talking about MAVIN Records  and moving forward now and I will say we would try as much as possible to communicate a lot of the truth to you guys  before people insinuate all sorts of stuff like in the last three months  I have seen different kinds of interviews and blogs and whatever that people have  written and they say that they spoke to me.

Like I was reading a blog the other day and I saw Exclusive Phone Interview by Don Jazzy bla bla bla and they wrote like a full conversation. The person said this and I said this and that I said this and the truth is I have not had such interview with anyone. I have not spoken to any reporter this year.

Could that be true?

Yes, they are not quoting anybody they were quoting themselves may be they have one imaginary Don Jazzy they were talking to or the other because the Jazzy they quoted is not me, I really do not speak to anybody regarding any situation or any issues, I have not put out any press statement saying whatever on this issue so people just really assumed. They were quoting themselves.

Jazzy what lesson would you say you have learnt from your past experiences that may likely help you in this new movement?

They are not lessons that are new. Change, like they say is the only constant thing in life and I  have just confirmed  again that really things happen, relationship ends, good things must come to an end they say, one will just try much as possible to see that good things that we have last for  long but sometimes they do happen we just pray GOD to help us live as  long as possible to see more of the good things than having the good things to end and then  because I  have already known there is nothing much to say now  about that past. Really, my entire mind is focused on moving ahead.

Basically to put up your energy to transform our future. We wouldn’t say we don’t have the memories of things that has happened but we just pray to God that as we are moving forward that such situations never occur again and we just pray for the best.

What do you think will change in your transition from MO’HITS to MAVIN?

It has been a moving trend from MO’HITS to MAVIN, the only thing that has changed is the name.

Wayne Rooney spotted with Man-bag

Man-bag is the sort of accessory you normally associate with perfectly-groomed footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo.

And while metrosexuality doesn’t come easy to Wayne Rooney, he’s willing to give it a try.

The Man United striker is seen here clutching a fashionable manbag as he strolls through McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

It's a look that his former United teammate Ronaldo has perfected over the years.

Striker Wayne is taking a break in Vegas in the wake of the Red Devils’ heartbreaking last-gasp Premier League title loss to rivals Man City.

Rihanna Poses Topless In Esquire UK

We could pretend to be shocked that Rihanna is posing topless in the pages of  Esquire UK, but you and I both know that RiRi is no stranger to some half-nude but (mostly) classy pics. In fact, over the last few months, Rihanna has tweeted out a topless photo from the set of her "Where Have You Been" video and allowed fans to see a bevy of her scantily-clad Hawaiian vacation pix.

eLDee's Undeniable Concert in Accra, Ghana!

Trybe Productions and Trybe Records would like to thank all those who attended their first presentation in Ghana. It was an unbelievable line up of some of the finest artists from Ghana and Nigeria, and the show was a roaring success.

The goal of this production was three-fold. “First we wanted to present the finest artists from both Ghana and Nigeria; and we had the best of the best on stage last night” says, Producer, Femi Badmus. “We also wanted to put on the best show possible.” Well if you ask anyone of the fans present, they will tell you it was absolutely amazing.

Trybe Productions also wanted to provide an opportunity for some of the new artists in the industry to showcase their talent, and they certainly did that. Newcomer, Aramide, kick-started the show with a lovely rendition of Ghana’s National Anthem, followed by Trybe Records label mates Sojay and K9, who got the crowd hyped.

The show was hosted by, the one and only Jay Foley, while DJ Kess was on the turntable. Together they kept the hype going throughout the show.

At the mere mention of his name Sarkodie fans jumped out of their seats; and when he took the stage there was a frenzy of delighted fans chanting out his songs, “Sarkodie” “You go kill me”, “Dangerous” and more.

Next up was Sheyman, followed by Dr. Sid, who did not disappoint the audience with an exciting and energetic performance.

eLDee was absolutely riveting as fans jammed to the well known “Bosi Gbangba” and “Big Boy”, and then were thrilled with the introduction of his latest singles of the upcoming undeniable album, “Today, Today”, “Category”, “Wash Wash” and “Zombie”

It didn’t end there. Tiffany came out with her dancers and showed off her “Azonto” skills and then charged-up up the ladies with “Fake London Boy” and “Last One”. StayJay also joined her on stage to perform “Shashiwowo”.

WizKid gave an explosive performance backed up by D-Money for the first few songs of his set; and then was joined by R2Bees to present their collaboration, “Dance”. R2Bees took over and capped off the night with fans singing, “Kiss your hand” among others.
It was a show that was not to be missed....so if you did, maybe next time! It was a fantastic show enjoyed by all.

This concert was also an opportunity to support a worthy cause, The Hope Integration Project. This programme has been developed by the Ghana Government via Ghana’s Prisons, with the goal of rehabilitating and re-assimilating former inmates back into society. The programme provides training and temporary housing for those recently released in support of their transition. A portion of the proceeds from the ‘Undeniable Concert’ is being donated to this very worthy cause.

Trybe Productions would like to once again acknowledge their sponsors, DHL, Trybe Records, RLG Communications, Gold Brook Properties, MPX, Iman Entertainment, Airport West Hotel, Excel Lounge, Soundcity, Mr. Biggs, Yfm, e.tv, GhOne, and One Nation Entertainment. Thank you for making this event the success it was.
