Soulja Boy Buys Private Jet worth 9 billion For His 21St Birthday

Rapper Soulja Boy is marking his 21st birthday by treating himself to his very own private jet - worth a staggering $55 million (£34.38 million).

The Crank That (Soulja Boy) hitmaker, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, celebrated the milestone on Thursday (28Jul11) and has decided to spend big so he can travel in luxury.

The birthday boy, who shot to fame in 2007, purchased a Gulfstream G5 jet earlier this week (begs25Jul11) for $35 million (£21.88 million), but he's having the interior completely revamped, spending another $20 million (£12.5 million) on special upgrades.

Upon completion, Soulja Boy's jet will boast 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, four liquor bars, a spacious bathroom and Brazilian hardwood cabinets, according to Tmz.com.

The plane will also be given a new coat of paint, complete with the rapper's own logo.

The pricey expense won't put too much of a dent in the birthday boy's bank balance - in 2010,Forbes magazine named him the 18th richest man in hip-hop, taking home $7 million (£4.38 million) that year alone.

The star's celebrity pals, including singer Sean Kingston and teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, have also been sending gifts his way.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page on Thursday, Soulja Boy wrote, "opening bday presents!!! these earrings are so f**king dopeeee ahhhh thanks bro @seankingston...

"justin bieber bought me a balloon. best f**king birthday ever. goodnight."

The rapper celebrated his big day with a star-studded party in Miami, Florida on Friday night (29-Jul-11).

Police Officers And Inmates Are Allowed To Have Sex In Jail

It is no longer news that there are babies in Nigerian prisons. What you might have known is that the number is far more than you could imagine. In Kirikiri prisons in Lagos, a visit by a body (CRAPI), sometime late last year proved a shocker. The group found to their consternation that the prisons not only hold baby prisoners or inmates, but a very large number. The body that later commenced processes in two Lagos courts to free these baby inmates saw 10 babies. That was not all. They also saw 10 pregnant inmates in the same prison. With at least 10 babies they carry, it means Kirikiri Prisons alone had 20 kids in jail through association as at last year.
But a puzzle that will remain unsolved is not only how these babies got in there, but rather that most of these babies were conceived after the suspect mothers got into detention or started serving terms. Saturday Sun dug into that mystery and discovered that there could be some inexplicable mystery of conception in a prison or detention cell other than what human beings know. Maybe, in prison cells conception is contagious, airborne or waterborne. Police detention The search started from the police - the first point of call where some of these women are detained for weeks before they are charged to court. The suspicion in this matter is the fact that most of these mothers-while-in-prison got there without any pregnancy. Viewed in another way, there is doubt if the law in Nigeria permits that a pregnant woman sentenced to prison starts serving the term when the baby had not been delivered. Pregnant before imprisonment Saturday Sun also took its searchlight to the police. Some police officers questioned admitted that it is quite possible that some enforcement officers play a role in putting female detainees in family way. There is a caveat here – consent. They claim such suspects must have consented to the act of intercourse and a resultant conception. “I do not find it an offence if you see a woman and get attracted to her. If you tell me that a policeman is dating a suspect that is a different ball game all together. Anyone that tries that would definitely be dismissed. Besides the IPO would always be there whenever they want to bring them out.” A police officer that pleaded anonymity, said: “ I am a Christian so I cannot lie. It happens and it is common. These girls willingly give themselves to the police so as to get a shortcut out of their problem. A lot of female criminals and suspects have been let loose because they decided to use what they have to regain freedom. Those who landed in prison must have committed an offence that is obvious and cannot be covered. The IPO will sleep with her with a promise and still fail. It is no longer news.” In this regard, a lady who dated a policeman while in detention and later ended up in jail could be discovered to be pregnant after the sentence depending on the interval between her sex encounter and time of conviction. A typical example was an encounter with a lady identified as Chidinma, a prostitute in Yaba who was a victim of this situation sometime. She claimed that her brothel was raided at night and all the sex workers were detained. “ We gave them what they wanted and were released that night. Nobody knew that we were arrested. I can’t afford to be sent to jail, so what’s the big deal if I offer sex to get my freedom.” Getting it done Saturday Sun also visited a prison in Lagos disguised as a relative of an inmate who sought to know from a male warder (name withheld) the possibility of smuggling a lady into the cell of a male prisoner who is her brother. The warder laughed hysterically and advised the inquirer to send money to her prisoner relative and leave the rest of the deal to him (the warder) Still pushing further, the inquirer (Saturday Sun) pleaded that she would love to make the arrangement because the family wanted someone to take in for the brother in prison. She was advised to call back, which was done few hours later. The warder went for the business and asked for a N20,000 to facilitate it from her end. But he did not fail to advise that it would be cheaper to arrange a lady inmate to fill the job. With an insider, lady inmate, the arrangement would be entirely that of the warders in-house. “ It would be better, cheaper and easier to get a woman from the female prison. Most of the fine female inmates are reserved for the big boys in prison. Those girls are clean and untouched. They are firm and aggressive in bed,” he laughed. “Could it be that you also patronize them since you know all these details,” the reporter chipped in. Still laughing, the warder said: “ I am a married man and a Christian. I love my wife but if I were still single, I would not think twice to choose a wife from the prisons. They are better than girls of nowadays who sleep with any man that is ready to drop some money. We have cases of prison warders getting married to an inmate. They are human beings and have changed in the course of their stay in the prisons.” When told that there could be possibility that these inmates could get pregnant, the warder said: “It is very rare because these are grown ups that have seen life before they were convicted. I believe they should be wise enough to make use of condom, besides it is very rare. But if that becomes the case, its either the woman keeps the child or flushed it out. Forget about that one, nobody is praying for anything bad to happen. Whenever you are ready, let me know. I gave you a fair deal, no forget me.” Like a confirmation of the stunning revelation by the warder, an ex- convict who spoke to Saturday Sun on condition that her name won’t be mentioned admitted that such things happen, and only men who can afford the fee go for it.” “It is a pleasure reserved for the big boys in the prison because it is always arranged by the warder who also gets his cut from the deal. But it is always done with the consent of the woman who is also interested in satisfying herself. I do not blame them because it is not easy for a woman to hold her body not to talk of a man. Is it not better to take the pains and pay such a woman than to masturbate? That is no news. In the five years I spent in prison, if I had the opportunity I would have had my way in such deal but thank God for Christ who gave me the strength to pull through.” Set them free –Child’s right NGO Mrs. Ozioma Onyenweaku is advocating that according to our laws, babies should not be kept in prison. CRAPI, an NGO formed to advocate, monitor and defend the rights and welfare of the child stumbled on a stunning revelation that these babies born in the prison are also raised there. Recently, she got a court order that led to the release of one of the nursing mothers in Kirikiri Prison. Although mother and child are free today, Mrs. Onyenweaku said the order made to preserve the rights of the baby was not acknowledged. She is currently in court seeking the release of babies and their mothers in Kirikiri prisons. In a suit before the Federal High Court in the Lagos, CRAPI is requesting enforcement of the Fundamental Rights of pregnant women and babies in prison. In its application, CRAPI is requesting that a declaration be made that the detention of pregnant women and nursing mothers with their babies is illegal, unconstitutional, an abuse and flagrant violation of the fundamental rights of the woman as enshrined in the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (ratification and enforcement) Act Cap 10 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria and other international declarations and conventions signed and ratified by Nigeria. She also seeks a declaration that the birth and nursing of babies in the prison meant for criminals is not in the best interest of the future generation and the nation. The body would persuade the court to make an order restraining the government from further detaining a nursing or/and pregnant women in the prison. Also in another suit at the High Court of Lagos State, CRAPI is requesting for an order enforcing the fundamental rights of all babies in Kirikiri Prison, Lagos. In one of the reliefs its prayer is a declaration that the detention of babies in Kirikiri Prisons is a violation of their rights to liberty and dignity as enshrined in the constitution and preserved in the Child’s Right Law of Lagos State. Throwing more light on what her grudges are, Onyenweaku said: “I was on the monitoring team when my organization visited the female prisons and discovered that there where pregnant women and babies in the common cell. These women I discovered were allowed to carry their full pregnancy term in prison, give birth in the prison and nurse their babies in the prison. Disgusted, I wrote a letter to draw the attention of the Attorney General of Lagos State to this ugly situation, but there was no positive response. Even the State Chief Judge who visited the female prison in 2009 can attest to the fact that there are babies in the prison. “It is all about the right and welfare of the children. We are protecting both the rights of the born and the unborn. We had to go to court, for the babies because they are subjects of the case.” On the possibility that some of the ladies got pregnant in the prison, the advocate said: “I had the pleasure to interview pregnant women and nursing mothers, but from what they told me, they were pregnant even before they were convicted. No one said that they got pregnant there. I still recall when I was trying to screen some underaged children in court. They told me that they were in police custody for up to two months while the investigation was in progress. They alleged they slept with policemen to get freedom but the policeman failed them. They were promised freedom if they agreed to sleep with them. This definitely explains why most of these girls discover that they are pregnant as they arrive at prison from police detention.” On possibility of pregnant women hiding under the law to commit crime, Onyenweaku argued that no pregnant woman would deliberately commit crime knowing that her baby would be at risk. “If that is the case then the law still stands because we are looking at the rights of the baby not the mother. In a case of a non-institutional punishment, non-custodian should first be considered. In a situation where the woman has been found guilty, the non-custodian (the unborn baby) should first be considered. If the person must be put in prison it must be in a family like environment not just any prison so that the child will have normal development. The Child Rights Act says that there should be a family-like place for women who are in prison. There should be a family-like place for women who are in the prison. After considering other option and you are left with sending that person to prison, the woman should stay with her child and pass on all the natural features to the child through breast milk so that the child will grow up normal. The child should not be separated from its parents. Nigeria signed all these laws into power but implementation becomes a problem. The Police Public Relations Officer, Junaid …. in response said such cruelty can never happen in the Nigeria Police and if anyone has been a victim. “Such person should come to the police and tell her story. We promise that confidentiality would be top most priority.” Speaking on phone also, the Prison Public Relations Officer, Chuks Njoku told Saturday Sun that the issue of babies born in prison is in the constitution. It is in the Nigerian constitution that a pregnant woman who is convicted should be accepted in the prison. That is why we have qualified doctors and nurses to attend to them. The babies would be taken away from them as soon as they are 18 months provided their mothers have not served out their terms.” On allegation that some lady inmates have sex in prison and later discover they are pregnant, the PRO said such does not exist as some of the girls who had spent weeks in police custody get to the prison and discover that they are pregnant. “Remember that most of these women stay in police custody for weeks before they are brought to us. It is at the prison that we discover that they are pregnant and we cannot reject them because the laws permit that.” Njoku’s response to a question on reservation, place or room for conjugal visit is that there is no legal provision for it.

80-Year-Old Woman Sees Condom For The First Time

A woman believed to be in her eighties stunned counselors of a voluntary counseling and testing organized by WillWay Africa, an anti HIV/AIDS non-governmental organization at Ayetepa in the Dangme West district of the Greater Accra region, when she bluntly told a health officials she preferred drugs to a condom she was being offered. Her reason simply was that, since her time of womanhood to marriage and old age, she had never seen a condom before or witnessed what a condom is used for. In fact, the demonstration of what it is used for by the counselor was totally new to her. “This is the first time I have seen this thing and what it is used for,” the nurse who counseled her related this to The Heritage newspaper. She insisted that she should be given such drugs as paracetamol, vitamin C than a condom after she was counseled and screened and schooled on sexually transmitted diseases and how they can be prevented. At the end of the exercise, 270 residents of Ayetepa participated in the voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) exercise out of whom four tested positive. 1,296 condoms were also distributed to the most at risk groups. Some residents who participated in the VCT conceded that it had been a revealing experience that enabled them to know their status. They stated that it has given them the confidence to live healthy sexual life styles. The District AIDS committee member at the Dangme West Assembly, Micheal Brown, was impressed about the level of patronage of the VCT despite the downpour that preceded it. He was elated with the publicity and awareness tactics used by WillWay Africa, which is, having a gong-gong beaten to pre-empt the residents and the information van which called on them to take advantage of the VCT. The Assembly member of the area, Alex Teye Djimeh, observed that the VCT has been beneficial to the people and appealed that it should be extended to neighbouring communities as one of the largest in the district.

Tuface Idibia cries out "I've stopped smoking marijuana"

Many people may think that R and B singer, Tuface Idibia regrets having many women and kids in his life, but the crooner told Life and Beat that he was a responsible father and as such, “I am not going to deny my kids. I have accepted them as mine and I am willing to take care of them because I love them.” However, Tuface has a major regret. He disclosed this during the press conference for his new album, Enter The Place. “I regret smoking and drinking. That is my biggest regret. I have (made) some mistakes, but those two are the worst.” Although he regrets drinking, the crooner does not seem to be in a hurry to stop the habit. Minutes after his lamentation, the African Queen crooner bought a bottle of Red Label whisky and boozed away. Meanwhile, a lot of criticism is trailing the new album. Many believe the four-tracker, which contains three songs and one skit, does not qualify to be called an album. But Tubaba explained, “It is boldly written on the CD jacket that Enter the Place is a promo album. This is how it is done abroad and I am an international artiste. I am expected to follow international trends. The album is only meant to whet peoples’ appetite.” The full album will be out soon.”

Fundraiser for Sosoliso Plane Crash Survivor Kechi Okwuchi is tomorrow

Nkechi before the crash

A FUNDRAISER FOR KECHI OKWUCHI

Born on the 29th of October 1989, Kechi Okwuchi is the first daughter of two, to her parents Mike and Ijeoma Okwuchi. She grew up as an only child for the first few years of her life, till her younger sister was born in 2000.

Kechi excelled in her pre-secondary school and rode that wave into Loyola Jesuit College Abuja. She was only a year from graduation, on that fateful day of December 10th 2005. On December 10th 2005, the Sosoliso plane crashed, killing 109 passengers. Kechi Okwuchi and one other passenger were the only survivors. Kechi sustained 70% burns on her body and remained in a coma for a month at the Milpark Hospital in South Africa. Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Nigeria, took on the funding for Kechi from the time of the crash until she left for the United States in 2007. She was sent to South Africa by SPDC for immediate treatment of her burns. Kechi underwent multiple surgeries in South Africa. After waking up from her coma, she had to relearn to do everything again. She learned to sit, she learned to stand, she learned to walk and use her limbs. Needless to say, this process was painful. But one thing she never needed to learn was how to smile again. Even with all the pain from the surgeries, she still remained smiling. In 2007, Kechi returned to Nigeria and was admitted at the Shell Hospital, Port Harcourt. In August 2007, Ms Okwuchi was transferred to Shriners Chidlren’s Hospital, Galveston Texas, USA. Shriners Hospital specializes in the treatment of burns resulting from various forms of accidents for children. Children, according to the hospital’s policy, are people under the age of 18. However, the hospital, of their own discretion, decided to extend Kechi’s treatment to what has now become 3 more years. At Shriners Hospital, from 2007 till date, Kechi has undergone up to 75 different surgeries all over her body. These surgeries range from skin grafts to reconstructive surgeries. Last year, on October 29th, Kechi turned 21. According to the United States government, she is now a legal adult. As a result, she would no longer be a patient of Shriners Children’s Hospital. Shriners hospital has been kind enough to complete the surgeries they have begun. Beginning the summer of 2010, Kechi began the next step in her recovery process. She began a series of laser surgeries, which are designed to burn off the kiloids on her skin and smoothen her skin once more. Aside from the laser surgeries, she is also scheduled to begin facial reconstructive surgeries this summer in Boston. This is an appeal to raise funds for these surgeries, as well as her up keep afterwards. With your help, and the grace of God, we hope to raise enough funds to relieve the burden of this cost. Your kind donations will be appreciated; please send your donations to the listed accounts or send in your pledges. Thank you and may God continue to bless you. Bishop Oyedepo Cautions D’Banj

Koko Master D’banj who use to be a devoted member of Winners Chapel Intl before he became popular was recently invited to perform at a Youth Convention in Winners Chapel which held atCanaanLand in Ota, Ogun State Nigeria.

Naijan.com learnt Dbanj even gave a testimony at one of the Sunday’s Service when he won an MTV Award

It was gathered that when D’Banj mounted the stage to perform, The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo was said to have told him to remove all the Bling-Bling on his neck and be cautious of what he says on the podium.

The warning from the no-nense man of God, Dr David Olaniyi Oyedepo was said to be passed across jokingly but you know the kind of weight it carries in that kind of arena.

Well next time Koko Master, behave yourself when you’re in the presence of God.

Is J Martins Truely Homosexual ?

The no 1 impression of anybody about him will be that of a perfect man who will only do what other guys like him would do. Justice Okey Martins popularly known as J Martins may be many things in the industry but not a perfect man if the story filtering in about him is anything to go by in the culture of morals. Information reaching us about this artiste who is a native of Ohafia in Abia State is that the man who many believed is one of the most decent Nigerian music stars when the issue of discussion is about women, may even be worse than what his peers in the industry are doing to the opposite sex.

Latest story making rounds is that the “Oyoyo” crooner allegedly has more passion for his male counterparts than the female, the immoral act simply known as homosexuality. A source alleged that he is not always comfortable in the midst of women though he pretends to be so that many people wouldn’t know what he is up to Further learnt that he is the female, which accounts for the way he cat-walks like a woman. Sources also said his new-found wealth and affluent lifestyle emanates from his sexual proclivity, because he is pampered with expensive gifts of cash and other material things by his influential and rich male friends in the country.

J Martins’s frequent trips aside from his musical career are alleged to be an avenue to meet with his friends scattered across the country. When probing further, the source said he is discreet about it and he always denies it whenever anything about his dirty lifestyle is mentioned because of the way many people will view it. But he knows very well who he is.

TONI PAYNE BACK IN 9ICE'S HOUSE

oni Payne who recently divorced 9ice has moved back into his house in Abule-Egba. Our sources also say she has been doing all the house-wife chores since she moved back in. Coupled with the fact that she has a child for 9ice, reports say Toni is now happy with being the first legitimate wife of 9ice.

Attached is a picture of the gist as reported by Punch Newspaper. The Excerpt of the story right after the picture.

Excerpt…

In a rather dramatic twist, cosmetologist and emerging artiste manager, Toni Payne, might have moved back into the expansive Abule-Egba, Lagos, home of estranged husband – afro hip hop singer, 9ice. Her unexpected return to the house she left in unwieldy circumstances late 2009 came as a shock to neighbours, aides, close friends and relatives of the singer who thought she had moved on for good. According to several impeccable sources, Payne’s startling about-face happened last Thursday when she came to the house demanding to see the father of her child but was prevented from entering. “She called 9ice several times but he didn’t pick the call because he had been told she was at the gate. He came with a male friend even. What angered 9ice was that she didn’t pre-inform him of her visit, source says. She left without blowing a fuse, only to return the following day. This time, Payne brought along with her the only product of the short-lived marriage, Zion, and she was allowed in without much ado. Payne was in the house until Wednesday morning. The source further says, “Throughout the time she spent in the house, she was always cooking, trying to worm her way back into 9ice’s heart but he didn’t eat the food because he’s trying to be careful.”

To underscore her return, she even invited the Soundcity crew over to the house to interview her artiste, Adol, which, multiple sources say, didn’t go down well with some of 9ice’s crew members. In all of these, 9ice has reportedly kept mum and remained indifferent to Payne’s schemes. During her brief stay, it was learnt that 9ice’s parents also made surprise visits to him, lending credence to the insinuations that Payne might have begun the reconciliation process from the roots. Close watchers of the unfolding scenario are not totally surprised at her sudden transformation, far from her hitherto bellicose stance on anything 9ice, especially since she learnt that an Abuja-based lady now has a child by him. In the last one week, discerning followers and Payne’s fans, especially on social networking and micro-blogging site, twitter, would have deduced that she is whirling in a new kind of euphoria and that she still has a thing for the celebrated singer, even to the point of helping to hype his forthcoming double album. “The most anticipated album of 2011. In fact, over anticipated sef = Bashorun Gaa,” she tweets. That was last Thursday, the day she made the first visit to 9ice’s house. Another of her tweet reads, “More than love is true friendship. This alone can withstand all the ups and downs and still keep us standing. Three years….God is great.” She adds, “Two steps backwards, 20 steps forward.”

Some curious followers pointedly told her to leave 9ice alone, thinking she was up to some mischief. She had to reply one of them that she is just an avid fan of his music. Since then, every of her tweet has been punctuated with lyrics and anecdotes from the singer’s songs. Then, when 9ice made a guest appearance on a radio programme on Wednesday morning, Payne was the first to let the world know; “Oya o, (it’s) good music time. Tune in to Rhythm 93.7 FM, 9ice in the building.” She posted several tweets, indicating that she was keenly following the programme. When E-Punch spoke with her shortly after the programme, she refused to comment, saying, “I’d rather keep my private life private.”

When contacted, 9ice’s manager, Dehinde Fajana, says he is not aware of the entire affair and, therefore, could not comment. He chips in however, “9ice is an intelligent young man who knows what he wants out of life. For now, all our attention is concentrated on releasing his jazz album which would serve as a precursor for the double album. That is all I have to say.”

9ice was a burgeoning musician when he met the then US-based Toni Payne at an event in Lagos. They got married in July 2008 and had a baby shortly after. They agreed to separate in January 2010, confirming speculations that the marriage was not built on solid foundations. The third anniversary of their wedding would have been Monday, July 18.

RAPPER JA RULE TO SPEND OVER TWO YEARS IN PRISON

US rapper and actor Ja Rule has been sentenced to 28 months in a Federal prison by a Federal judge for failing to file income tax returns. The sentence which was made on a three misdemeanor count requires the South-South Jamaica Queens rapper to pay up to $1.1 Million to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Born Jeffrey Atkins, the multi-platinum selling rapper who hasn’t had it going good in the music scene for a while openly admitted and pleaded guilty in March 2011 for failing to pay taxes of more than $3 million that he earned between 2004 and 2006. Even though he had asked for four to five years extensions, Ja Rule still failed to file in the tax returns.

I in no way attempted to deceive the government or do anything illegal,” he said, minutes before being sentenced in a New Jersey federal court. “I was a young man who made a lot of money — I’m getting a little choked up — I didn’t know how to deal with these finances, and I didn’t have people to guide me, so I made mistakes‘, Ja Rule explains.

Ja Rule was also sentenced in New York City last month to up to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempted criminal weapon possession.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Mack who has asked the judge not to let Ja Rule off with no jail time on the federal charges says ‘The court should impose the same sentence it would impose on someone who is not a celebrity‘.

My business is very ‘out of sight, out of mind,’” he told the judge. “The longer I’m away, the longer it’ll take me to get back to doing what I need to do to actually pay these taxes‘, Ja Rule asked for leniency from the Judge.

The rapper’s seventh studio album ‘Pain Is Love 2‘ is set to drop August 2011.
