TONI PAYNE TERMINATES MANAGEMENT DEAL WITH OLAMIDE

The popular talent manager and estranged wife of popstar 9ice, Toni Payne has reportedly dropped young rapper oLamide from her Toni Payne Conceptmanagement outfit.

Sources say Toni Payne allegedly terminated the management deal because she had once or twice caught the young rapper performing at shows without her consent. oLamide was said to have been collecting performance fees also.

We’re told the last straw that broke the camel’s back was when the rapper was said to have attended a gig sponsored by Coca Cola alongside his record label mates at CODED Tunes after Payne had boycotted the show and instructed him not to go only to find out on Twitter that he indeed attended.

‘I don’t want to talk about it. I won’t say anything about it’, Toni Payne said when our reporter reached her on her mobile phone.

Several attempts to reach oLamide himself proved abortive as his phone was answered by a certain Labo who claimed to be his manager. ‘No comment’, Labo said when he was confronted with the matter.

oLamide who is signed to ID Cabasa’s CODED Tunes records and known for his street anthem ‘Eni duro’ released his debut work ‘Rapsodi’ in March 2011 and has received four nominations at the forthcoming The Headies awards.

In related news, Toni Payne has been said to have relocated to her new house in Magodo, Lagos.

Payne who used to live with her grandmother in Surulere area of Lagos is still furnishing her 2-bedroom flat which attracts a one million naira yearly rent.

Illuminati controversy trails D'BANJ Oliver Twist dance competition

Finally there is incontrovertible proof that Nigerian superstar entertainer, D’Banj, and other members of Mo’Hits record label headed by prolific producer, Don Jazzy, are 100% confirmed members of the uber-evil secret cult, the Illuminati.

The undeniable evidence was provided by artistes of the record label themselves, causing Nigerians to philosophically comment that ‘they have used their own hands to do themselves.’

The evidence in question is a video clip produced by the record label in which D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, Wande Coal and an unidentified man dance like gay men to D’Banjs’ new hit single, Oliver Twist.

Dr Zen Solonso, a Zen expert and an expert on everything Illuminati, analysed the video and exposed all the hidden Illuminati symbols in it.

According to him, one of the biggest objectives of the Illuminati is to turn everybody gay – this is why their known members like Kanye West, dress like Gay men. It would be recalled that D’Banj and Don Jazzy have recently signed up to Kanye Wests’ record label.

In the group’s Oliver Twist video, they did not only dance like gay men, they also invite people to record their own Oliver videos and post it to them at oliver@mohitsrecords.com. And they even further enticed people with thousands of dollars that will be paid to the best video.

Already there are lots of videos on Youtube showing young people, both boys and girls, dancing like gay men to the Oliver Twist song.

Dr Solonso also pointed out that in the group’s video Don Jazzy is wearing what looks like chequered trousers.

“This alternating pattern of white and black squares is the Illuminati’s mind control method,” he said.

Indeed, according to the expert, the song’s catchy tune and highly danceable sound is down to Don Jazzy’s pants.

Dr Solonso also pointed out that at some point in the video the unidentified man walks across the camera, holding a red bag and what looks like an enchanted horn.

Finally, the expert drew attention to the sound speakers and other electronic equipment arranged to spell the word ILLUMINATI behind the artistes as they dance like gay men.

This, according to him, is the strongest evidence that the video, the song, and the invitation for people to film their own Oliver Twist videos are nothing but an Illuminati plot to turn Nigerians gay.

WIZKID FATHERS FIRST CHILD AT 21

EME Popstar Wizkid has fathered his first child at 21, i can authoritaterively can confirm.

The beloved hit-maker and ladies man has been linked to many women – most times older than he is – and pundits had feared he could be heading the way of misdemeanour if care was not taken.

Now, as our investigations reveal, the young man impregnated an undergraduate named Sola several months ago, and the lady has since put to bed. Before delivering a baby girl for Wizkid two months ago, we’re told Sola who resides in Magodo, Lagos was studying in the University of Legon, Accra, Ghana.

This is not something his close friends and associates would want to reveal for now. And we’re told his parents and mentors insist they’ll wait until a DNA confirmation, before fully admitting the child is Wizkid’s.

At least two colleagues confirm to us, that the debutant allegedly fathered a child in June. Multiple sources who are familiar with the ‘baby mama’ and her family also tell us ‘it was widely known to us all when they were dating. And we knew when she got pregnant for him’.

Wizkid has been rumoured to date daring actress Tonto Dike even though they both continue to deny this. We confirmed from reliable sources back then, that Wizkid’s Honda Accord that was jacked by robbers, was a gift from Dike.

In an elaborate chat with a Nigerian Entertainment Today editor, Wizkid denies having a child. ‘No, I don’t. It’s just a rumour, I’m not thinking about that right now’.

In the interview held last week at Ogudu-GRA, in Lagos and published in this week’s edition of Nigerian Entertainment Today Newspaper, he continues, ‘ I really don’t want to find myself in that kind of situation, I’m all about my music now‘.

But our sources, who want to remain anonymous, insist Wizkid has fathered his first child..

Will Wizkid, whose real names are Ayo Balogun, follow in the footsteps of 2face Idibia (five kids from three women), JJC (three kids from three women), 9ice (three kids from two women, one of whom is still legally married to him), and the likes of Father U Turn, KWAM 1, KSA, and many other musicians who have children from multiple relationships? Ebenezer Obey loses wife

Tragedy struck the Ikeja home of former Juju music maestro, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi (MFR) when Juliana, his wife of more than four and half decades, died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

Aged 67, Lady Evangelist Juliana Obey-Fabiyi, who recently returned from a medical trip to an Indian healthcare centre, was readmitted at LASUTH where she died in the early hours of Tuesday.

A frontline business woman and poultry farmer, Mrs. Obey Fabiyi is survived by her widower, EvangelistEbenezer Obey, children and several grand children.

In his first reaction to the death of his wife Obey referred to the scripture which stated in Psalm 48:14: “For this, God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even unto death.”

Born to the Onifade’s family on March 23, 1945, she got married to Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi in 1963.

Burial arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.

On of the earliest callers at the Obey-Fabiyi Ikeja residence was the Secretary to the Ogun State government Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa who pledged government’s support for the Obey family in their hour of need.

Accompanied by several aides the State scribe who described the departed woman as a pillar in the family said “rather than cry for Mama, we rejoice in the Lord because Mama rests in the bosom of the Lord.”

While holding brief for the State Governor, Barrister. Adeoluwa offered his condolences on behalf of his boss saying, “he would have loved to be here personally, but he is o pilgrimage to Mecca”

DON JAZZY: I'VE TAUGHT KANYE WEST HOW TO EAT POUNDED YAM

It’s Don Jazzy again! The ubiquitous music producer seems to be making the news everyday; from hosting beat competitions where he has rewarded winners with cash prizes to featuring on Jay Z and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ album, you could say the Mo’Hits C.E.O is living in good times.

On Friday, August 19, 2011, Don Jazzy paid a visit to Lagos urban radio station Beat FM where he was interviewed by OAP, Toolz. Don Jazzy talked about life with Kanye West, why Wande Coal hasn’t released any song since his debut in 2009, his new found love for wearing pyjamas and shocks all by querying his nomination at this year’s Headies

How did you come up with the ‘Oliver’ song?

I was upset at some point when people were saying that D’banj and Wande Coal have slowed down in their career. I still want more for them.

I’m not sure about that now.

Where did music start for you?

I started music in the church. In the choir at some point… (Pauses) you know what? I don’t want to spill everything yet. I’ll be writing an autobiography, my dad and I are working on it. There’s no name for it yet but he has called it ‘The Making of a Don’.

When will the book be coming out?

It’s coming out next year.

Let’s talk about ‘Enigma’. You asked rappers to record their song versions and submit to you…

It was crazy. I was expecting to see about a hundred responses but I ended up seeing 2000!

Talking about the ‘Oliver’ dance competition, who are the judges?

For now, apart from myself, there are no other judges.

When is the closing date?

It’s been crazy though. I will give out a 3-day notice to when it will close.

So let’s move away from D’banj for a while. What are the other Mo’Hits members up to?

Well, Wande Coal has been recording in the studio and will be dropping a few songs this year. We are all concentrating on D’banj for now though. When his (D’banj) album drops, there’ll be time for the others. Dr. SID is performing in different states and has also started to learn music production, he isn’t doing badly too.D’Prince’s album has been completed since God knows when. We will be releasing it at the right time.

How do you deal with negative comments?

Just like the way Jesus handled them, like Jay-Z handles them, like Kanye, likeBeyonce. The thing is that I get more love than hate, so when the negative ones come in, I try to find out why they do that. I block some (followers on Twitter) when I feel they have nothing to say.

Tell us more about D’banj’s album; will it still be titled ‘Mr. Endowed’?

A couple of tracks have been recorded. You can take the previously released singles as mixtape materials. The timing is what is most important. The album name ‘Mr. Endowed’ might change. It has to do with what comes up from now till then. Everybody should please be patient. I know you are all excited.

You were recently nominated at The Headies 2011 in the ‘Producer of The Year’ category alongside Cobhams, Samklef, Jesse Jagz and J Sleek, how do you feel?

Was I nominated? I didn’t know. Thank you so much. I’m honoured. Really,Cobhams and I shouldn’t be nominated. I like Samklef and wish he wins, everybody please vote for Samklef.

Who do you think is the next big thing in the music industry?

Wizkid.

But Wizkid has emerged already and even has an album, who else do you think is the next big thing?

For now, nobody.

So whose music do you listen to nowadays?

I listen to almost everybody, Wizkid, 2face – I can kill for him, Choc Boyz.

What about the Female artistes?

Tiwa savage is good and she has given out so much. Waje is a heavenly singer.

Tell us about working with Kanye West.

I’m very picky with music but Kanye is worse. At times I regret I played ‘Scapegoat’ and ‘Give it to me’ for him because he keeps referring to them when I make beats for him (Laughs). He likes ‘Entertainer’ too.

How about Jay Z, have you done any work for him?

Well, Jay Z recorded on a couple of beats that didn’t make the ‘Watch The Throne’ album but I’m glad ‘Lift off’ did. Over 70 songs were recorded for that album, ‘Lift off’ had been done a long time ago.

Have you done any solo production for Jay Z?

No, not yet.

When will you produce for Beyonce, when will she say ‘It’s Don Jazzy again’?

Beyonce will say it soon. Kanye West has already said it a couple of times.

If you had the chance to work with any other foreign artiste, who would it be?

I would like to work with Rihanna. I like the vibe she gives off, it would be nice to work with her.

Which other artistes have you done tracks for in the US?

I don’t want to talk about songs I’ve produced songs that have not been released because they might never be released and Nigerians will then think I’ve been lying.

What Nigerian influence have you taken over to New York?

Well I’ve taught Kanye how to eat pounded yam but he hates pepper.

Apart from making music, what other businesses do you run?

I’m into real estate and of course the Koko enterprises.

Don Jazzy, you have been seen on several occasions to be wearing T-shirts and pyjamas trousers, just like you are wearing now. What’s with the new look?

Well, I heard a story about a guy in Enugu who people used to call Don Jazzy because he dressed like me – you know wearing the Indian-overall gowns I used to put on. He also carried a walking stick like I used to. Apparently he got broke along the line but still wanted to keep up with the trend so he was caught stealing and was eventually burnt alive. That’s why I now wear what I have on. Besides they are more comfortable. I prefer to call them colourful trousers.

Tell us about Kanye West’s birthday, did you guys attend?

Well you know D’banj’s birthday is a day after Kanye’s. We travelled to New York, gave him his gift and left.

Will you marry anyone in the music industry?

Sure, why not? Of course! We will both understand that we have to work and travel, at least it won’t be one-sided.

Are you dating anyone at the moment?

Presently, no.

What’s your idea of an ideal woman?

Presently I don’t have any but I like any kind of person.

What do you have to say to upcoming acts out there?

Put God first! Do not wish anybody bad for any reason. Decide what to do before you get into it.

T.I. WRITES FINAL LETTER FROM PRISON BEFORE SEPTEMBER 29 RELEASE

The rapper who is currently serving an 11-month sentence posted an open letter via his Trapmuzik website where he talks about the ordeals he has faced over the recent years and his plan on how he will change when he gets out of prison…

What up world? This will be my last message from Forrest City. Just reaching out and sending my love, respect and appreciation to all who have been ridin’ with me throughout this chapter in my life and not just recently but since all the things started happening one after another back in ’06. From Big Phil’s murder to my beautiful little angel Leiah being called home to heaven, to my arrest in ’07, the 1st prison sentence in ’09, to this last journey that I’m nearing the end of. A lot of people who are aware of all that has happened to me in my life say that there aren’t many men who could have endured and withstood so much pain, pressure and turmoil while managing to remain sane and keep their wits about them. I must say that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without God’s grace and having a strong support system behind me every step of the way.

So often we spend time acknowledging the presence of ‘haters’ and all the negativity they send our way but we don’t take the time to acknowledge and appreciate all the ones who love and support us and supply us with the positive energy we need to overcome. We complain about the pain so much that we don’t even notice how much stronger, wiser and better of a person the suffering has allowed us to become. I heard Pac say once ‘To live is to suffer and to survive is to find meaning in that suffering.’ I later found out it came from an author by the name of Friedrich Nietzsche. When I heard Pac say that it was just some hard s**t to hear your favorite rapper say before he kicked a verse. Now that I’ve gone through it and grown from it those words have a real true meaning to me. I know this won’t be my last battle with adversity but it has truly prepared me for whatever else may come in the future. For that also I’m thankful.

Now it goes without saying that I hate I had to come back to prison for these 10 months but I am truly grateful for the knowledge, growth and understanding I’ve received from the experience.

 Next time you hear from me I’ll be back out there with you. Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard. When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some ‘I’M SERIOUS‘, ‘TRAP MUZIK‘ s**t… But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it. I’ll be back at you in a minute.

Wande Coal leaves Mo-Hit Mansion for his 1004 Estate apartment

Ojosipe Wande, otherwise known as Wande Coal has left the Mo’ Hits villa in Maryland for an apartment of his own in 1004 flats, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Fellow labelmate Dr Sid also owns an apartment at 1004 flats and he is said to have help the singer find his new apartment.

The black diamond crooner who is working on his second album moved quietly to the new place a couple of months back and not as a result of the reported strain in the relation with Don Jazzy. It is also said that the move might have been want fuelled the reports of a squabble in the Mo’Hits camp which has been denied by both Don Jazzy and Wande Coal.

The house in Maryland, Lagos is now being occupied by D’Prince who also shuttles between the place and D’Banj/Don Jazzy’s apartment in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Terry G's manager says Danny Young’s claim is a publicity stunt

Two new singles are currently causing controversy between two singers who are also producers, Danny Young and Terry G.

Terry G was the first artiste to release his own version before Danny Young dropped his own few days after. Ever since then, there have been accusations and counter accusations over the original owner of the song. What however made the scenario worrisome was that Terry G also came under great condemnation when he released his last single, Apako. He was greatly criticized by Sideone for using the same instrumental he (Terry G) produced for his song, One by One and sampling his music at the same time. They later bury the hatchet and moved on.

The melody and rhythm of these two new singles are awfully different but the concept of the song is very comparable. Rhythms & Sounds spoke to the management of both artistes and they gave their different versions of the story.

In a bid to clear the air over this matter, Danny Young’s management decided to issue an official press statement so as to set the record straight for all future reference and to lay to rest every unnecessary rumour.

According to K Lala, whose is currently Danny Young’s manager, the song, Eli Jah was originally recorded by Danny Young as one of the songs on his next album. He said Danny Young and Rocksteady agreed to record a song together on Danny Young’s next album. The day the song was supposed to be recorded, Danny Young put a call across to Rocksteady and he told Danny Young he was at Terry G’s house which is located in the same neighborhood with Danny Young.

Danny Young’s manager, K Lala stated that they met DJ Bombastic (a popular radio DJ with Rainbow FM in Lagos) and Sideone (an artiste) in Terry G’s house. “We played the song and everybody there including Terry G fell in love with the song. They all prospected that the song would turn out to be a massive hit and Terry G admitted that he hadn’t heard any song quite like it and indicated his interest to be featured on the song as well. We resolved to feature Terry G and Rocksteady on the song since we had previously considered the option of working with Terry G too. Based on this deliberation, Terry G later requested for the data of the said song claiming that he wanted to add some baselines on the production. Everybody there including Sideone and DJ Bombastic admitted that the beat was okay as produced by Danny Young but Terry G insisted that he had a different idea. In good faith, Danny sent the data to him to work on and also to record his own verse which was supposed to be the second verse. That was the last we heard of him before we travelled for some engagements in Dubai, Singapore and Kenya. He avoided our meeting before we travelled not knowing that he had another game plan”.

K Lala continued that while “we were still outside the country, people who had listened to the Song aside DJ Bombastic, Sideone and Rocksteady called us that Terry has released Danny Young’s song and they were wondering if he actually gave it out or sold it to him. We decided not to do anything till we return to Nigeria. When we got to Nigeria, we immediately repackaged the song and release it with some punch lines against Terry G on the second verse which was supposed to be his verse on the track. The song was not actually supposed to be out now because we recorded it for the album. We were supposed to drop the singles we shot videos for on our trip. But because Terry G had already released the song, we didn’t have any choice than to release ours and tell the whole world our story. We have witnesses and we are very happy with the way they have all come out so far to defend our claims. One of the artistes present at our meeting that day even warned us not to give the data to Terry G but we trusted him as a friend and a colleague not knowing that he is very mischievous”.

We also spoke to Terry G’s manager, Don T of Now Muzik but he said there is no iota of truth in the allegation. “I called Danny Young that he should send the first version of the song to me but he didn’t. There is no resemblance in the two songs at all and I’m disappointed in the whole publicity stunt”.

We scooped that in few weeks time, Danny Young will release new singles and videos which was their original plan to promote Danny Young’s next album. Danny Young’s manager, K Lala said they are not ready to join issues with Terry G. ““Even though we are aware that this is not the first time he will be involved in such act, we are not ready to join issues with him because we don’t need controversy around Danny Young at the moment.”

DAREY, BOB MANUEL TO ANCHOR GULDER ULTIMATE SEARCH SEASON 8

As the eight edition of the popular reality TV show Gulder Ultimate Search draws nearer, fans have been kept guessing who will anchor this year’s edition.

Well, show organisers have announced Nigerian actor, Bob Manuel Udokwu and R&B singer, Darey as joint anchormen. Darey and Bob Manuel were both contestants at the Gulder Ultimate Search Celebrity Showdown but Bob Manuel is no new comer to hosting as the actor will be doing so for the fourth time.

‘The choice of two hosts for Gulder Ultimate Search 8, as against having one anchor person, is part of the new concept of GUS. As we have mentioned, thirty contestants will compete for the grand prize in GUS 8. The new course that GUS will be charting this year, the fun and excitement which we anticipate that Season 8 will generate, necessitated our choice for two anchormen this year’, Mr. Yusuf Ageni, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc sheds light on the new concept.

Kunle Afolayan and Odunlade Adekola joins list of GLO ambassador

Nollywood star Kunle Afolayan has joined the league of GLO ambassadors as telecommunications company Globacom today named the award winning actor-director as one of it’s ambassadors. Also, we’re told Yoruba home video star Odunlade Adekola has been appointed a Glo ambassador too.

The endorsement according to Afolayan will last for a period of two years and will see him attend to matters of public interest. ‘Yes I was appointed today and I feel excited being associated with a big brand like Globacom. I hope I can do more beyond the work of a brand ambassador. I want to use this position to affect lives positively‘, Afolayan delightfully expressed.

These new appointments follow GLO’s 2010 endorsement deal with pop duoPsquare. The four-year deal is worth at least N240M.

Kunle Afolayan who started out in the banking sector while playing minor roles before moving full time into movie making is the director of the award winning movieThe Figurine and Irapada. A graduate of the New York Film Academy, he is highly recognized and respected in the Nigerian film industry. Afolayan is the son of late actor-producer Ade Love.

CAN petition Research in Motion over devil icon in BB phones

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has sent a petition to Research in Motion (RIM), the manufacturers of the popular Blackberry smartphone, over the inclusion of the Devil icon in Blackberry phones’ emoticons, also known as smileys. Before sending the letter, the group embarked on a marathon series of dry fasting, holy-fire praying, and demon binding and as such were unavailable for comments as they were recuperating in private clinics. A high-ranking insider of the Church said: “This smiley or what do you call it, it is the mark of the beast. Yes! How else do you explain it? People only use it as punctuation when they want to do bad, bad things! And we as Christian Soldiers are going to fight it.” The group sent a strongly worded letter to RIM last week, but as of the time of filing this report they were yet to receive an official acknowledgement. CAN however believe this is because RIM is in the process of re-tooling the emoticon application to be more acceptable, and once that is done, will respond with a complete apology. A senior pastor of one of the more recognisable churches also spoke on the issue: “This is what we are talking about. People in this country should learn from this and obey before questioning. JJC: I made Don Jazzy and D’Banj

JJC/Skillz needs no introduction. He is a producer, rapper, DJ, song writer, a founding member of the popular UK group, Big Brovaz, founder of JJC and the 419 Squad, and president of Backbone record, which was once home to D'Banj and Don Jazzy. Skillz tells a City People reporter how he was betrayed by D'Banj and Don Jazzy.

It’s just life. Some people forget how everything started and some people remember, I would say that I was really the person that built the foundation for everybody to become what they are today and I would expect that they would remember and pay me that regard but they don’t.

The experience with Don Jazzy, D’Banj and other ex 419 Squad members was heartbreaking, because it was personal and it became something that affected me emotionally, hence the reason I left music for four years and nobody saw or heard from me. I didn’t record or do anything musically. I slowed myself down.

Don Jazzy was a keyboard player and Mr. Solek and Kas brought him to me and said that he really liked my music. At that time I was already JJC and I had songs like kilonsele on air play already and had won a couple of awards, I was strong in the game. I trained Don Jazzy on how to become a producer and he lived in my house for about a year and I showed him how to produce, trained him on how to perform and put things together.

And D’Banj , from the branding to how to act like Fela, I did it for him. His song, mobolowon won, was written by me, Raggaremi and MP. Even All The Way was written in Lagos here. I was very instrumental in packaging Don Jazzy and D’banj.

I was supposed to release D’Banj’s first album on my label, Backbone Music, but by the time we all came back to Nigeria in 2004, everyone started going their own ways when it was time to sign the 50/50 contract. They all decided not to sign. If I give you a contract and you refuse to sign, there is little or nothing I can do about it.

Do I feel betrayed by them? I don’t believe in regrets, because I believe every single thing in life make you who you are. The experience has made me a better business man. Now before I start anything with any artiste, they sign a contract or an agreement, so that we don’t have any issues in future.

Goodluck Jonathan rumoured to be a member of the Illuminati

According to an unconfirmed and highly unreliable source, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, might be a member of dreaded international cult, the Illuminati.

The unbelievable source claims that the president, who is a few months into his first full term, has the Illuminati to thank for his election victory.

Nigerian Government sets aside $50 million to celebrate Obama's 50th Birthday

The Nigerian senate has approved a budget of $50,000,000 to be spent on activities to mark US President Obama’s 50th birthday. Speaking to reporters, press secretary to the president, Mr Reuben Abati, explained that as the giant of Africa, it is only appropriate for Nigeria to adequately recognize such a milestone birthday of one of Africa’s kids done well. He however assured Nigerians that even in embarking upon this diplomatically significant project, the government has taken measure to save the country some money.

According to him, the original proposed budget was $75,000,000, but Mr President, ever the prudent leader, trimmed it down to $50,000,000, thereby saving the country a whopping $25,000,000.

He declined to answer questions on exactly what the planned activities are, who will be in charge of organising them, and if Mr Obama or any representatives of the US Government were aware of the plans, but he stressed that the project was not the president’s idea.

NDLEA set to arrest 2Face Idibia over drug use confession

Abuja - Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, are in a bit of a logjam over confession of drug use attributed to Nigerian superstar, Mr 2Face Idibia. Mr Idibia is reported to have confessed to using marijuana in the past, but not anymore as he has since given his life to Christ. NDLEA agents are now studying their guidelines and Nigerian jurisprudence to determine whether a crime has been committed, whether statutes of limitations applies, and most importantly, whether the confessor can be relied upon as a reliable witness against himself. Sam Loco Efe Died In His Hotel Room

Popular Nollywood actor Sam Loco Efe passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011. He died in Rapport Hotel, Amakohia, Owerri. According to Segun Arinze, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) the story goes that Sam Loco Efe had traveled to Owerri to edit a movie ‘Unknown Prophet‘ which was shot in Port-Harcourt. Efe had directed the movie. On Saturday, August 6, 2011, the 69-year-old veteran had told his crew to grab some sleep after a long day of work, they were meant to continue the following day. The next day (today), the crew waited for him to continue work but after sometime decided to go wake him up from his hotel room. Upon getting there, they heard no response after repeated knocks on the door. They were forced to open the locked door to gain entry only to find the actor dead. His death was confirmed by an officer from the Nigerian Police Force and a doctor. The News was also confirmed by the National Secretary of the AGN, Chuma Onwudiwe who says upon hearing the Efe’s death, he instructed the Financial Secretary of the AGN Cyril Ibe to proceed to Rapport Hotel. He later confirmed Loco’s death. ‘A polyglot, actor extraordinaire, father to many of us, an intellectual man of immense artistic stature, we will miss him greatly. The prayers of all AGN members are with his family at this time‘, Onwudiwe expressed. We’re told his corpse has since been deposited at Aladinma Mortuary, Owerri. J. Martins says gay rumour is a mere propaganda

If you missed the gay story J. Martins tells Rasheed Abubakar of Encomium magazine he is not gay.

I was in Abuja when I started receiving calls about the story and I was asked to buy the paper. I bought the paper and in black and white, they wrote that J. Martins is a homosexual. I started laughing and then entered my hotel room. I was naked looking at myself in the mirror, maybe I could see where the homo is. Me? Homosexual? From where? How? (laughs). It was very funny to me, you know it's one of the things you face as an entertainer.

This kind of thing comes up when some people have issues with you. Let me give you an example. Some people wanted us to perform in another country and they reached an agreement with my then manager. The guy said he was sending someone with the money to our house since they could not do the money transfer. When the man came, he was trying to get someone that could help him on how the money would get to J. Martins manager and a journalist offered to assist.

When the journalist came to my house, he didn't meet my manager but met me, and don't forget he had been communicating with my manager and not me and I didn't know him. He came with his two friends and I entertained them. He handed the envelop that contained the money to me asking that I should give it to my manager. I collected it and kept it for him, but the journalist left and took offence because I didn't give him money from the envelope.

How do you expect me to do that when the envelope belongs to the management. If he has asked me personally, I would have given him money from my own pocket. So because I didn't give him transport fare he decided to punish me by writing rubbish about me in the papers. Because of how much? The only thing I always say is that because you have pen and paper and use it to rubbish somebody's name, don't forget that you can't stay there forever.

MERCY JOHNSON READY TO BECOME PRINCE ODI'S 2ND WIFE
