Mo’Hits pair D’Banj and Don Jazzy are on the brink of splitting up

Mo’Hits pair D’Banj and Don Jazzy are on the brink of splitting up due to creative and personal differences. A source close to both parties has revealed that the relationship between the two is now so fractured that Don Jazzy has since moved out of the mansion they once shared in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Don Jazzy, according to the source, has become so frustrated with D’banj’s lifestyle, tantrums and unmanageable ego that he refuses to work with him. D’Banj, for his part, feels Don Jazzy is spending more time honing the careers of the Mo Hits fledglings such as D’Prince and Dr. Sid. He has also accused Don Jazzy of delaying his album release by giving “excuse after excuse.”

“D’Banj has an album due this year,” the source said. “He wants Don Jazzy to spend all his time working on his own album. Can you believe that Don Jazzy spent only two days working on Wande’s new singles?”

The source added that D’banj has also made several disparaging remarks about some of the Mo’Hits crew who he calls “backup singers.” He has also made several less than complimentary comments about Don Jazzy who he accused of going around in “pyjamas and t-shirts.”

Bad blood, GOOD Music

Although tensions have simmered between the once inseperable maestros for about two years, things went quickly downhill last year following the deal signed with G.O.O.D music, Kanye West’s record label. An investigation revealed that the terms of the agreement are far more in favour of the producer, Don Jazzy, a realization which has irked the artist. The source confirmed the disparity in the deal’s structure and revealed that D’Banj’s involvement is peripheral which has led to major problems between the two. The deal also involves a financial commitment of up to $3M, which Mo’Hits has not yet fully made up.

“When we all celebrated the deal last year, little did we know that it was really Don Jazzy that was being signed up,” the source said. “While Don Jazzy has already produced a track for G.O.O.D Music, D’Banj is just waiting around idly.”

Cracks in the duo’s relationship became apparent last year when both of them arrived and sat separately to several awards ceremonies. In the past, the two had always shown a very unified stance in public.

Politically poles apart

D’Banj, real name Dapo Oyebanjo, has come under fire from fans in recent months following his perceived nonchalance to the fuel subsidy and Occupy Nigeria protests. In a recent interview, the artist dismissed the criticism, saying that he was busy shooting a new video at the time the protests broke out.

Don Jazzy, on the other hand, quickly identified with the masses by stating his displeasure with the Goodluck Jonathan administration on his Twitter page.

The news of the impending separation will come as a major shock to millions of devoted fans who have come to identify the one with the other. Any hopes of reaching reconciliation have been dashed according to the source who said that the pair can no longer work together.

“Things are so bad now that there are many shows that D’Banj does where he does not remit any money to Mo’Hits,” the source said. “He accuses Don Jazzy of being too laid back and not attending meetings and negotiations but still feels entitled to collect fifty percent.”

The source added that Sunday Are, who used to represent the duo, now only works exclusively for Don Jazzy after D’Banj turned his back on him.

“The only people he is really close with now are Ikechukwu and Bankuli,” the source said.

It remains to be seen what the long term implications are for the Mo’Hits record label but D’Banj has wasted no time in launching his own record label which he plans to release his album on.

D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Sunday Are and Bankuli were all unavailable for comment at press time.

PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME JUSTIFIES MASTURBATION

Persons who hide to use their hands to stimulate their genitals for sexual pleasure in an act known as masturbation or solo-sex maybe now they have to stop hiding and rather be proud of what they do because leader of the Christ Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, says masturbation is a normal habit that is not a sin against God.

In what may become the wildest controversy within the contemporary Christian community, Pastor Chris insists that God is not worried at all about persons who masturbate because it has got nothing to do with Him (God).

Interestingly, Pastor Chris did not hide to release this ‘bombshell’ but allowed himself to be videoed and since the recording hit youtube, it has received some 83,335 plus hits within days. Pastor Chris made the masturbation justification when, during his ‘Pastor Chris Live Show’, a certain Kweku from Ghana called into the programme to ask how to overcome the habit of masturbation.

In response to Kweku’s question, Pastor Christ explained: “The reason you want to stop this is because of what you think it is.

If you were in the habit of playing football, you probably would not ask ‘how can I stop playing football? But because you think there is something wrong with this, that is where your problem is coming from. But no matter how wrong it is in your mind, get this straight: (masturbation) in itself, it is not a sin against God.

There are many Christians who think it is a sin against God and Satan uses this against them, oppressing their minds and making them feel ineffective and inefficient in the things of God. “But when you get to understand that it has nothing to do with God and that is all about you and your own body, then Satan loses his power to use it to accuse you. So if you don’t like it, stop it but God has got nothing to do with it. It is your own body, masturbation is about your body and God is not offended by it.

He is only offended by any habit that takes a hold of your mind and if this takes a hold of your mind and dominates you then, God is offended by the fact that it takes a hold of your mind,” Pastor Chris added. Masturbation has remained a rather sensitive topic with a divided opinion on whether it is good or bad. Generally, most Christians and Muslims consider masturbation to be a sacrilege and therefore frown on it.

Statistics say masturbation is mostly common among teenagers and though around 90% of the total male population and 65% of the total female population have tried masturbation, most people do not admit it. The Christ Embassy Church has several branches in almost all the continents of the world and has millions of members under the mentorship of Pastor Chris who has been in ministry for some 25years. EXCLUSIVE PICTURES OF IBORI'S £50m AQUISITION

James Ibori, a Wickes cashier who went on to become the governor of a Nigerian state, has admitted fraud totalling nearly £50 million, said to be part of total embezzlement which could exceed 250 million US dollars.

Ibori pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to a series of charges linked to the theft of money from the Delta state and fraud involving state-owned shares in a mobile phone firm.

He admitted one count of conspiracy to launder money, five of money laundering and one of obtaining a property transfer by deception over the theft of more than £25 million while he was governor of the region.

Ibori also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to make false instruments, and one count of money laundering linked to a 37 million US dollar share fraud surrounding the sale of shares in Nigerian company V Mobile.

Prosecutor Sasha Wass told the court Ibori had accepted he was involved in ''wide-scale theft, fraud and corruption when he was governor of Delta state''.

Ibori allegedly used a false date of birth when he ran for the governorship of Delta state to conceal previous convictions as a criminal record would have excluded him from taking part in the election.

Ms Wass went on: ''Mr Ibori tricked his way into public office. He had tricked the

Nigerian authorities and the Nigerian voters. He was thus never the legitimate governor

of Delta state.''

According to prosecutors he is 49, but according to the date of birth he used in Nigeria he would be 53.

Speaking outside court, Detective Inspector Paul Whatmore said it is estimated that Ibori stole around 250 million US dollars from the Nigerian state.

He said: ''The scale can only be described as huge. Vast sums of money which were used to fund his lavish lifestyle.

''The real harm in this case is the potential loss to people in some of the poorest regions in the world.''

Attempts will now be made to confiscate as much of the money as possible, so that it can be returned to the state government, Mr Whatmore said.

Ibori, whose address in England was given as Primrose Hill in north London, was working as a cashier in a branch of a DIY store in Ruislip, Middlesex, when he moved to Nigeria and worked his way up through the political ranks to become a state governor in 1999.

As governor of the state, he was racking up credit card bills of 200,000 US dollars per month on a luxury lifestyle, including running a fleet of armoured Range Rovers.

He was trying to buy a plane for £20 million at the time he was arrested.

Ibori will be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on April 16 and 17.

His wife Theresa Ibori, sister Christine Ibori-Idie, mistress Udoamaka Okoronkwo and London-based solicitor Bhadresh Gohil have all already been convicted of money-laundering.
